Welcome!  This website is dedicated to table-top Role-Playing Games.  The Lords of RPG is a gaming group located in the Kanas City Area.  Our combined experience playing RPG's is well over a hundred years of gaming.  Two of us began playing in the late 1970's.  We've seen scores of game systems come and go, and we understand that what really matters is the role-playing, rather than the specific rule system.  Table-top RPG's are all about the joy of creating a world, and characters, and then working together as a group to tell amazing stories about dangerous and dramatic adventures.

We use this website to share information on the RPG campaigns we're currently playing and some of our favorites that are inactive right now.  For you never quite know when we'll get the itch, blow the dust off some old characters, and give an old campaign new life and new tales to tell.  Playing a game is about collaborating, laughing, surprising one another with our ideas, and piles of snacks that are bad for you.  When we play a game, we're serious about the story, but we don't take ourselves seriously at all.   It is about having fun and capturing that wonder we felt when we played RPG's in our youth.

In the early days of RPG's, it felt like the whole world was against us.  There were religious people protesting against D&D, and saying that playing the game would lead us to damnation.  We're talking about a time when it wasn't cool to be geeky, or into games or comics.   A time when playing RPG's was enormously fringe from a cultural point of view.  Today, the whole world is turned on its head in a good way.  Computer gaming and all things digital have made geeky stuff cool.  It feels like imagination, story-telling, and solving-puzzles have become something that people celebrate and enjoy these days.  It is a different world.

I can't even believe I can write the words, "We are playing a campaign using 5th Edition Dungeons & Dragons rules."  I remember buying my first Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Player's Handbook, back in the early 80's.  I remember diving into those rules and anticipating how much better our games were going to be.  Now, its almost 40 years later, and I'm surprised at how well 5th Edition Dungeons & Dragons delivers those same feelings.  Its a brand new game, with a very traditional feel to it.  Well, welcome to our website.  Read and enjoy.  And please contact us if you have any questions or just want to get in touch.
